Logan Needs This!

The Tampa Airport Cell Phone Lot Rocks!

Tampa Airport Cell Phone Lot Rocks

I think most airports now offer a cell phone waiting area. Here is the one at Tampa Airport. You park in front of a live arrival board, so you can see up-to-the minute data on the flights. They even offer free wi-fi!

My guess is Logan doesn’t do this because they want to make money from short term parking. A tip for anyone who has to pick up at Logan – wait at one of the hotel parking lots – I hang at the Hyatt.

UPDATE: 3/31/08 Logan now has a cell phone lot! OK – its not as cool as the one in Tampa, no live arrival board and no free wi-fi. But at least we now have somewhere to go while we’re waiting for our friends to get their luggage.

Studies Find Internet Web Use Makes People Rude

The anonymity of the internet has created a culture of rudeness.
Insults, ridicule, and harassment thrive on blogs, chat rooms and message boards.

Take a look at this simple posting I made to a usenet group and how I was treated.
http://groups.google.com/group/rec.food.cooking/browse_thread/thread/3c03ba5df933835c

I think these guys are cowards with small penises, empowered by the ability to insult without being confronted in person. My friend Melinda says joesparebedroom is where he probably lives in his married sister’s house.

See – it’s even happening to me!
Why can’t we all just get along?

The Market Basket Pre Nor’easter

my cart, 12th in line

my cart, 12th in line

The Somerville Market Basket is the stuff that legends are made of. The place is crowded all the time, as it is known for its great low prices. The produce is always fresh because it is constantly being replenished, they can’t even keep the shelves full!

I have come to think of my visits as a multi-cultural experience; the masses from ethnically diverse Somerville know they can find their special ingredients.

I have lived through some crazy times at the Market Basket, like the time I couldn’t get a shopping cart until I tailed someone to their vehicle. You know what you are in for by the condition of the parking lot – if you have to wait for a space outside, you can imagine what it’s like inside.

But nothing beats last Sunday when I was 12th in line! Seems like there is always some event driving business; Christmas, Patriots Game or in this case a Nor ‘easter predicted for the early hours of Monday morning.
